The foundation of happy communities is built upon quality of life. Many community organizations work to improve the health, safety, housing, access, and equity of their member communities. A well-planned and managed transportation infrastructure is key to a diverse, successful community. This session will show how GIS can be utilized to benefit community organizations and show-case the use of GIS in transportation planning.

Annie McCabe is a GIS Specialist for the Mid- Ohio Regional Planning Commission. She is the GIS analyst for a variety of projects including sustainable growth planning, active transportation planning, and thoroughfare analysis. She is and member of Ohio URISA and a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with a master’s degree in Geography and a B.S. in Social Behavioral Sciences.
