Kenneth Speetjens

Kenneth Dale Speetjens is a Graduate Research Assistant for Associate Professor Charlene LeBleu at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. Mr. Speetjens is currently collaborating with Professor LeBleu on an Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) grant. His primary areas of interest and research focus on sustainable landfill development, issues surrounding climate change, and resilient cities. Mr. Speetjens is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and American Planning Association (APA). He is the president of the Auburn Chapter of Tau Sigma Delta and the treasurer for the Auburn Chapter of AUSPA. He graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Auburn University and is currently pursuing a dual Masters of Landscape Architecture and Community Planning. After he completes his studies at Auburn University, Mr. Speetjens plans to earn a PhD. in planning or design. His plans include working in academia and operating a small design firm. Prior to his studies Mr. Speetjens served in the United States Army, and was highly decorated for his service.
